SPATIAL DESIGN FOR LIVING
District: Kennedy Town, Hong Kong
Square Footage: 639 square feet
Property Features: 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open kitchen and home office.
Remodeling Budget: Approximately HKD 820K (all materials and labor)
Construction Time: Approximately 4 months
The Brief:
The customer wanted to fully renovate the property she just bought to create a space for a home that felt clean and minimal and would allow her to work from home in style. Originally a 3-bedroom, we also decided to knock down a wall and combine the master bedroom and the adjacent bedroom to create a bedroom that felt a lot bigger that included a calming study area.

Spatial Design Strategies
The living and dining area was designed to feel bright and airy while making the most of the ocean views outside. To keep things functional without cluttering the space, we created a TV console that seamlessly integrates with a tall shoe cabinet and built-in seating, offering plenty of storage.
You'll notice the TV unit angles out slightly more than expected. This was done to subtly zone the space, creating a mini foyer without adding bulk.
Sitting opposite the kitchen, this small entryway now feels more defined, with a built-in bench for putting on and removing shoes.
Lighting was another key focus in this room, as the space previously lacked enough light sources. Mapping out the right placements ensured a well-lit, inviting atmosphere that's big on ambience.
Final Design:
The completed vision of the space.
