3300ft2 SPACE FOR CARING
The neighborhood is a collective memory of the old Hong Kong lifestyle.
This design aims to provide a space where individuals recovering from mental health conditions can make new friends, enjoy coffee, and share reading moments.
A mailbox system at the entrance allows users to leave handwritten letters to connect with others. Inspired by the community vibes of Hong Kong's Hong Lok Street and Tung Choi Street, we created a feature wall with a hidden furniture system. The visual contrast between birds in cages and goldfish in tanks sparks curiosity and reflection. Additionally, elements from Flower Market Road and ice cafés inspired us to design a traditional Hong Kong-style banquette on the balcony, combining sunlight and flowers to create a warm, relaxing atmosphere.
