Introduction:
Woozy is a 500 sq. ft. speakeasy bar designed to deliver a theatrical and immersive drinking experience. The project was conceived to move beyond conventional bar design, using a strong narrative concept to shape a memorable brand identity. Inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery, the space blends Victorian architectural references with steampunk aesthetics to create a mysterious, dramatic, and transportive interior.

Spatial Design Strategies
The design highlight of this project lies in reorganizing the space to meet operational needs while creating a distinctive brand experience. The original plan proposed an internal staircase to connect the upper floor, but this would have taken up valuable bar area and made the layout feel more confined. The design team therefore replaced the staircase with a lift, freeing up floor space, improving efficiency, increasing seating capacity, and creating a more open and regular layout.
To strengthen the Speakeasy concept, Woozy was given a concealed entrance that sets the tone for the experience. Inside, the space unfolds into a fantasy scene inspired by the 19th-century industrial era, with Victorian details, steam-mechanical elements, and metallic finishes. Designed for only 18 guests per night, the bar emphasizes intimacy, atmosphere, and a strong sense of immersion.
